Chinese New Year is not only just about celebration, but it is also a time to look back at the history of the Chinese descendants in Australia to better understand the Chinese Australian community.
As part of the Chinese New Year Festival by the City of Sydney, the exhibition of “What’s in a Surname?” presents photos that tell fascinating stories about an array of Chinese personalities with western surnames, shedding lights to the earliest Chinese immigrants to Australia.
Time: 27 January – 10 February
Venue: Klei Gallery in Albion Place
