City of Sydney released the new branding for its signature New Year’s Eve event that highlights the city’s rich cultural diversity. Themed “Wonder”, the New Year’s Eve event will present the artwork by a Sydney based multidisciplinary designer Nadia Hernández on the main streets of the city during November to January and as part of the annual firework on the Harbour bridge.
Giuseppe Pino Migliorino, Founder of International Students Access, was named a Member of the Order of Australia on the Queen’s Birthday weekend this year. Mr Migliorino’s appointment recognises his outstanding contribution to the Italian community, to multicultural and refugee settlement assistance groups and through advisory roles.
The annual gay and lesbian Mardi Gras parade comes back to Sydney this Saturday. Initially a political protest in 1978, the Mardi Gras has evolved into one of the most significant events in Sydney’s event calendar, attracting thousands of people locally and internationally to this grand spectacular of sparkles and self-expression.
